Chaloner food processing plant
Chaloner olive oil & preserved food processing plant
Blaawklippen Rd. Stellenbosch
At the bottom of the Heilderberg mountain slopes Chaloner owners asked us to add to design an energy efficient and eco friendly new food processing plant to be connected to the existing double storey mediterranean style offices and cold room. The new LWS steel frame structure was designed to fit into the existing olive and lemon orchards while increasing processing effi-ciency and decreasing the electrical load.
An old existing warehouse was converted into a state of the art olive oil processing and storage facility. The north facing side of the roof structure has been utilised to host a PV array that gen-erates 20KW.
